Before I ever even heard of Gundam Wing, I happened to see a poster in my local anime store. It didn't even have the shows name on it but it depicted five rather handsome young men. And one in particular caught my eye. I found out later that it was none other than Duo Maxwell. I started watching Gundam just so I could justify putting him on my site eventually. And oh, how happy I was that Duo managed to be the winner of my first Poll. So I got the fun of making Duo graphics. ^_^
Okay, so I'm actually supposed to use this space to talk about the show and Duo Maxwell's roll in it. Well, he's a Gundam pilot, one of five sent to earth by the colonies (apparently independently) to wreck Oz's plan of taking over the world, or something like that. I haven't seen the whole show yet and frankly, the last 4 episodes I saw didn't contain so much as a glimpse of Duo.
What a disappointment! (Though for some reason, I really like Trowa. Didn't think I would, but I do. I'll have to add him later.) Where was I? Oh yes. DUO! Duo has a positive attitude and shows a chivalrous streak. He's got a great sense of humor and is about the only one of all the Gundam pilots that smiles on a regular basis. This despite the fact that his Gundam is called Deathschythe and he's been known to call himself the god of death. Sort of an enigma. I like that in a bishounen. I'll have to keep watching so I can figure my Duo out.
